Items used to bind, hold sculpture together

         ·         Hot glue

         ·         Floral wire

I started out with a small pile of items and wanted to use hanger wire as my main component, I quickly found out   that this is not the easiest thing to bind permanently. I eventually came up with the idea to use hot glue to hold the wire where I wanted it so I could then come back and wrap it tightly with wire. After a while I started using wire wrapping even when I knew the glue was enough mainly to keep the consistency throughout the sculpture.

My thought process was generally focused, but my vision continually seemed to be changing. I found this a neat exercise; I had not been forced to take an opportunity to try to create before.

Challenges luckily were minimal; I chose a smaller sculpture size to minimize potentially large challenges. I was stumped with the best way to attach the freshly dismantled hanger wire, but overcame that quickly enough.

I can’t help but feel a little bit of pride in my creation, I gave it the effort I felt it deserved. The sculpture I started out trying to create slowly took on what I can only assume was the form it wanted. Originally I wanted it to be a vision of death, but without fail every piece I attached to it formed quite the opposite. Even its posture begged the option to show its wisdom and kindness. The back piece was left long in case I made an error I would be able to recover, as I assembled the arms the back started to droop in what looked like the back of an older individual. Also when I was putting on the final touches I noticed that the right arm was extended in a way of offering. If I had to change anything it would to go in a little more opened minded and not try to force the art to take form.
